Courtenay & Nathan James
The friendliness of the island and the many choices of cuisine and activities made it easy choosing Grand Cayman for their destination wedding.
Wedding Date: November 11, 2021 “We wanted our guests to enjoy a vacation in addition to attending the wedding. I didn’t have to worry about planning itineraries for others – I just sent along Cayman guides prior to the wedding so people could see all the island had to offer and make reservations as needed,” says Courtenay. The Wharf provided the setting for the ceremony and reception. Courtenay, gorgeous in a Mikaella ivory silk-fitted empire gown with trumpet skirt and chapel-length veil, exchanged vows with Nathan, who wore a black tuxedo accented with an ivory dupioni silk long tie. Their wedding cake was reminiscent of the island dream complete with a seashell motif. Most Memorable Moment “My mother was very ill with breast cancer, and she was able to enjoy her time on the island and at the wedding,” Courtenay recalls. “She died less than a month after our wedding, but she was able to spend her last days in paradise.” Files courtesy of Cayman Islands Department of Tourism |
