This wedding was all about celebrating in a great atmosphere.

From hosting small get-togethers to their wedding day, having the right décor is important to them. “Above everything else, the décor had to be fun and support a great party atmosphere,” says Nicole. So when it came time to planning their wedding, the couple decided they wanted to make a modern statement. The minimalist interior of their venue accentuated the couple’s style. The room was filled with modern hues of grey and black with pops of bold canary-yellow in the décor and food. Each centerpiece had a different bouquet of yellow flowers, popping beautifully against the black drapery and monochromatic tableware. The venue was complete with personal touches, creating heartfelt moments for everyone. Wedding Attire Nicole’s dress brought ultimate joy on her wedding day. It was a strapless, fit and flare gown with a floating, tiered ruffled skirt designed by Maggie Sottero. “It was ruffled, girly and I could dance!” she says. Her look was complete with silver, sparkly peep toe pumps and instead of a veil, she wore a crystal brooch in her hair¬¬—a very modern approach. As for her man Omar, he went for the traditional black and white suit. But, instead of a tie he decided to stand out and go for a real classic bow tie. Most Memorable Moment Nicole literally cried when she saw how amazing the room looked. The couple wanted a bright and bold venue followed by a fun atmosphere. “It was delivered in spades,” Nicole says. Omar was so excited with everything he choked up and kept hugging their planner, Crystal Adair-Benning, founder of Distinct Occasions. Wedding Advice The couple’s advice for future brides and grooms is to trust your vendors, “It isn’t easy but they are truly in their element and will go above and beyond for you if you let them.” Nicole and Omar had a vision for their big day and their wedding planner helped them achieve it.
