Monique Lhuillier is an innovator in the bridal field and over the years, her signature style has made her one of the most sought after designers of the stars. 

Ms. Lhuillier was born and raised in the Philippines. She left the Philippines when she was 15 to attend a prestigious boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was there that she decided to enter the world of fashion.

While shopping for her own wedding dress, Ms. Lhuillier decided to design bridal gowns in order to bring a fresh approach to the industry. Ms. Lhuillier and her husband, Tom Bugbee, started their own company in 1996.  Her dresses were well received and the company thrived.

Ms. Lhuillier’s gowns can be found in the United States as well as Europe, Asia, Mexico and Canada.

All about the lace
Ms. Lhuillier loves to work with luxurious fabrics such as silk Peau de Soie, silk satin organza, silk gazaar, silk chiffon and of course lace. Lace has become a signature fabric for Monique; she was the first designer in many years to incorporate lace into her bridal collections.

Over the years Ms. Lhuillier  has also become famous for her backless dresses and her two piece ensembles with corsets. 

Many celebrities wear her dresses because she is conscious about how the gowns look and feel. All of her sheaths have a silk charmouse lining creating a very luxurious feeling for a bride.

Expanding the brand
Mattel came out with a Monique Lhuillier Bridal Barbie and more recently, Royal Dalton launched a fine china collection with Ms. Lhuillier.

As for the future, Ms. Lhuillier will continue to expand her company creating beautiful designs and products for her savvy worldwide clientele.
