In 2002 I started a new job at the Sandpiper Golf Course in St. Albert, Alberta as a Server/Beer Cart Girl. Unbeknownst to me, my now Fiancé Josh began his job as a Cook there as well. Neither of us realized that we would be meeting our future partner at a summer job. One typical day as I was stocking the beer cart to feed those thirsty golfers, Josh walked over to and introduced himself to me. When we first locked eyes it didn’t occur to me that it would be a freeze frame moment in time that would be locked in my heart forever. From then on over the next year Josh and I became best friends, finding trust, companionship, and love in one another. At the time of our one year anniversary, my family and I decided to finalize our plans and move to British Columbia for other opportunities. My family has always lived in British Columbia and I had been accepted into Capilano University to pursue my Degree in Tourism studies.
Josh was heartbroken but continued to help me pack and move. The moment I drove away was one of the most excruciating and depressing moments in both of our lives. After only being apart for two days Josh decided that he couldn’t live without me; he called me and said “I love you, I can’t live without you, I’m moving to BC to be with you.” Within weeks he packed his bags, leaving his family & friends, to be in BC with me. Fast forward 7 ½ years later, we are happily living together in BC.
We have a house, and 2 kitties Neeko & Monkey, and a yellow lab named Nella as our little family. Throughout the time we’ve been together Josh has been supportive of my dreams and ambitions and has supported me through the many struggles and up’s and downs of life. Without him by my side I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I wouldn’t feel complete without his love in my life.
Josh is outgoing, funny, and strong-willed – he’s the perfect person for me. Very recently Josh and I’s family planned a vacation to Cuba. He woke me up on Valentine’s Day I unwillingly got up at the stroke of dawn (after many late nights of laughs and dancing with our families) and we walked along the beach at sunrise where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I very happily said “yes!” We’re very excited to take this next journey in our lives.
